Quick answer #
Planet Zoo 2 has two editions. Frontier lists the Standard Edition at £39.99 / $49.99 / €49.99 and the Deluxe Edition at £54.99 / $64.99 / €64.99.[1] On the US Steam store the two are $49.99 and $64.99.[2]
The Deluxe Edition adds 6 extra animal species and a selection of exclusive animal signs for your park.[1] So the extra price buys those 6 animals plus the signs: $15 / £15 / €15 more than the Standard Edition (our calculation).
If you pre-order or pre-purchase either edition, you also get the Bonus Content Pack at launch.[1][2]

The 6 Deluxe-only animals #
The official Zoopedia marks these 6 animals with the Deluxe content pack:[3]
| Animal | Scientific name | Habitat type on the Zoopedia |
|---|---|---|
Axolotl |
Ambystoma mexicanum | Exhibit |
Blue and Gold Fusilier |
Caesio teres | Aquarium, Exhibit |
Golden Eagle |
Aquila chrysaetos | Habitat - Flying |
Golden Lion Tamarin |
Leontopithecus rosalia | Habitat - Terrestrial |
Great Hammerhead |
Sphyrna mokarran | Aquarium |
Longfin Batfish |
Platax pinnatus | Aquarium |

So three of the six are aquarium animals (the Blue and Gold Fusilier is also listed under Exhibit), and the Deluxe Edition adds one flying, one terrestrial and one exhibit-only animal (our calculation).[3] See the full animal list for the other 118.
What the pre-order bonus contains #
Frontier's FAQ lists the Bonus Content Pack as:[1]
- Exclusive Toucan Eat Shop and Signage
- 3 Unique Animal Donation Bins
- Tiger Photo Stand-In Wall
Steam's store page lists the same three items for pre-purchases.[2]
Is there an Ultimate Edition? #
Not on the official pages we checked. Frontier's FAQ prices only a Standard and a Deluxe Edition, and the Steam store sells only "Planet Zoo 2" and "Planet Zoo 2: Deluxe Edition".[1][2] Physical disc editions for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S launch on Tuesday 20 October, according to the same FAQ.[1]
Is there DLC yet? #
Frontier says the team is "fully focused on launch" and has nothing to share about future content.[1]
